Château Fourcas Dupré

Bordeaux
Patrice & Ghislain Pagès
In the heart of the Medoc, there were already vines in the area called "Fourcas" at the beginning of the XVIII century, as can be seen on the maps drawn by the King's cartographers: Masse, Robert, Belleyme … The château was called Cru Roulet until Jean Antoine Baptiste Dupré, solicitor at the Appeal Court of Bordeaux, bought it in 1843.

Patrice & Ghislain Pagès • Château Fourcas Dupré

Château Fourcas Dupré
Listrac-Médoc

The main estate wine has a complex mineral style with touches of ruby. Its personality develops with balance and smoothness. With time the sweetness and elegance of its tannins gives a remarkable balance and harmony. One finds traces of roasted coffee beans and toast that develop with time.
Keep : 5 to 25 years, peaks around 10 years.
Maturing : 100% in barrels of which 33% new barrels.
Blending : 44 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 44 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot.
Patrice Pagès • Château Bellevue Laffont

Château Bellevue Laffont
Listrac-Médoc

Château Bellevue-Laffont has been part of the estate since 1973. Evolving more rapidly than Château Fourcas Dupré, it's proved itself in 3 to 5 years. The vinification is done at low temperatures to accentuate the fruit and smoothness of the wine. Naturally stronger than the Hautes Terres de Fourcas Dupré vintages, it's an extremely pleasant wine.
Keep : 3 to 5 years.
Maturing : in barrels and vats.
Blending : 60 % Merlot, 40 % Cabernet Sauvignon.
Patrice Pagès • Château Fourcas Dupré - Cuvée Hautes Terres

Château Fourcas Dupré - Cuvée Hautes Terres
Listrac-Médoc

This special vintage is the modern parallel of our main estate wine. The high proportion of merlots in the blend makes it atypical Medoc wine. Being particularly rich and moreish, it has all the characteristics of our Pyrenean gritty soil and can be enjoyed whilst still young.
Keep : 4 to 6 years.
Maturing : in barrels and vats.
Blending : 80 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon.
Patrice Pagès • N°2 de Fourcas Dupré

N°2 de Fourcas Dupré
Haut-Médoc

N°2 de Fourcas Dupré is the « second vin » of the Château Fourcas Dupré, since the vintage 2011. The appellation is AOP Haut-Médoc.
The vineyard is an uninterrupted plot located on a crest of Pyrenean gravels with a complement of clay and limestone.
Keep : 10 à 15 years.
Maturing : 50 % in French oak barrels, 50 % in vats.
Blending : 79 % Merlot, 21 % Cabernet Sauvignon.
